Continuing the Housing Conversation: Housing First MN Meets with Gubernatorial Candidates

Approximately 15 months from the 2018 elections, Housing First Minnesota is continuing the future of housing conversation with candidates vying to hold the highest seat in Minnesota government.

On Tuesday, Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson (R) and State Representative Matt Dean (R) each spent one hour discussing housing affordability, the role of the Metropolitan Council, and a variety of other issues.

We know that regardless of who is elected, we need to be able to communicate the key issues that are facing the housing/construction industry. We are optimistic that our invitation to the candidates will be a great place to begin that discussion.
— Daryl Doehr, Housing First 2017 Chair

Over the coming weeks, all major gubernatorial candidates will be invited to meet with the task group of housing industry leaders.
